Our client is offering an integrated portfolio of business software and IT enabled services delivered through its unique Global Network Delivery model, with a global workforce in excess of 110,000 people, operating from 47 countries with annual revenues of $4.3 billion.
They are launching a strategic initiative into the application solutions arena for the global Financial Services market. As a direct result they are looking for business-minded Industry Programme Managers’ and Industry specialists to be part of a new team selling high value enterprise business solutions, incorporating services, software, outsourcing and bespoke managed services
The Financial Solutions division is a comprehensive portfolio of business solutions for Banks, Capital Market firms, Insurance companies and diversified Financial companies. Each solution is designed to run as a scalable and robust service, fully integrated with existing business models, enterprise infrastructure and technology architectures
It is a globally recognised industry leader, the financial solutions have depth and breadth in core banking, payments, regulatory compliance, straight through processing, transaction systems and risk in the Investment Banking sector and Life and Pensions/Insurance sector.
Overview of the role
Project Managers are responsible for the successful implementation of their products and services within the project plan from inception to going Live, meeting the clients’ business needs and requirements. You will determine the scope of the implementation project and will liaise with the Client and management on the project status and deliverable issues
Key elements of the Role
• Good general project management skills. • Excellent knowledge of the financial services industry, experience can be in Retail Banking, Insurance or Corporate/Investment Banking. • Good Degree. • Experience gained in blue chip organisations • Commercial/business outlook-not purely technically focused. • Good written and spoken presentation skills. • Able to sell ideas and interface well at all levels.
Responsibilities
• Pre-sale and client: Work with bid team including liaising with client, selling capabilities, understanding the client’s requirements, determining their technical response, producing the proposal, determining the commercial approach and estimating the effort required for the system architecture and design phase. • Ensures that a contractual agreement is in place prior to project initiation. • Analysis and design phase: Manage project initiation, working with client staff, alliance partners and internal staff to manage delivery of solution, architecture, product portfolio, interfaces technical assessment, IT organisational impact assessment and designs to sufficient detail to enable estimation of the resources required for implementation. • Manage ongoing client liaison, including progress reporting, relationship management, change control and billing for client activities. • Implementation phase: Lead the technical delivery team, ensuring that the team delivers the solution meeting costs, timescales and functional, performance, security, client systems integration requirements etc. • Continue to manage ongoing client liaison, including progress reporting, relationship management, change control and billing for activities
Other responsibilities
• Act as Engagement Manager where required. • Manage relationships with clients’ technical management • Contribute to development of the companies capabilities including programme management skills. • Assist other Project Managers by leading and participating in Peer Reviews Experience
• Several years IT project management experience in the Financial Services sector. • Significant involvement in at least one ‘end to end’ solution. • Knowledge of modern methodologies • Exposure to whole project lifecycle from proposal to close out. Preferred Experience
• Overall delivery responsibility for at least one ‘end to end’ solution. • Prime delivery responsibility/involvement in a high profile customer management project. • Experience of working with high value enterprise sales teams.
